10/26 WBA October Business After Hours at Tops’l Farm

Crisp air, cozy fires, and great company — help us celebrate 10 years of Tops'l Farm!
Join us for a special Business After Hours on Monday, October 26th at 5:30pm as we gather to celebrate a decade of Tops’l Farm! We’ll kick off the night outdoors behind the event barn with crackling fires and a welcome drink of warm cider upon arrival. Enjoy a grazing table packed with delicious, Tops'l Farm kitchen-made snacks, followed by an exclusive tour of their new glass house and summer kitchen food production facility. Afterward, we’ll head into the cozy event barn to mingle and relax.
A cash bar will be available, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Waldoboro Food Pantry.
This will be Tops’l Farm’s last event of the season so don’t miss out! We welcome all fellow businesses to attend.

On Monday, 9/28 from 5:30–7pm, Spear's Farmstand and RE/MAX Jaret & Cohn will host WBA's September Business After Hours in Waldoboro.

Join us for a lovely early fall evening of Harvest fun. Spear's will be sampling their homemade apple cider donuts as well as other yummy harvest items and Bob Bird of RE/MAX Jaret & Cohn will be hosting at his office next door. Bob recently joined the WBA again and is looking forward to meeting everyone.
Several of our members have requested to share announcements during our meeting.

The 2026 WBA July BAH will take place at Crawford Farms Wedding & Events in Warren, from 5:30pm - 7pm on July 27. Location: 1710 Atlantic Highway (Rt 1), on the right, just before Ande's Variety.

Small Batch Kitchen will be serving a variety of savory and sweet bites and with
Jim Letteney in charge of music, you know there might even be dancing. Laurie is working on a surprise trivia game too.
For those who might be interested, there is now a weekly Market at Crawford Farm barn on Thursdays. Crafters, food and many other items are being sold by local businesses. Laurie will tell us all about it next Monday!

6/29 WBA June Business After Hours (Updated)
The 2026 WBA Summer Party and BAH will be held at the Cabot Lodge on Monday, June 29th starting at 5:30pm
Please join us for an enjoyable and very interesting evening, at Open House of History, especially if you have not been inside the Custom House lately. We will have light finger food and beverages as well as have the opportunity to view the current artist installations and hear from Michael Amico more about these projects and what other events are coming this summer. Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Updated: 2026 Summer Party & June BAH
Unfortunately, our scheduled host, Laura Cabot, has recently broken her leg and is unable to host the WBA Business After Hours on Monday, June 29th. We join in wishing her a speedy recovery. She is hoping to be able to hold a party at her business sometime this fall.
On Monday, 6/29 from 5:30–7pm, Laura will host WBA's Summer Party & June Business After Hours at Cabot Lodge on the 2nd floor of her building at 13 Friendship Rd. Look forward to specially-styled and delicious food along with refreshing drinks on the deck.
At 7pm, the After Party starts, music begins, and the style will be vintage, torch and burlesque. Those who would like to attend are welcome. As everyone knows, Laura throws a good party!
After months clearing and renovating the upper floors and basement of her building, Laura is in the mood to celebrate. The spaces on the 2nd and 3rd floors are now available to rent on AirB&B and the 2nd floor is set up to host small events. Tours of the renovated space are available.

What an absolutely fun and delicious night!
Thank you to all 4 businesses. You worked so hard to give us a great experience! It was a fantastic start to the 2024 New Year also. We had several first time guests who are starting businesses in Waldoboro and they all shared that they felt very welcome and that our business community was very supportive and friendly.
Feedback from the hosts is that it is much easier and less costly to co-host a BAH. It generates more "buzz" and seems to result in greater attendance. If you want more information about partnering with another WBA member to co-host a Business After Hours, reach out and email Jessica or David, below.

We are happy to report that over 55 new and / or returning member businesses have sent in their 2024 membership dues, so far.
The new WBA Board has made significant progress in rejuvenating our organization!
Our Board is NOW full (9 voting positions). We are happy to welcome Joe Blakey of Ardiah Managed Services and Laetitia Brundage of Kenshin Ranch.
We are a working Board. We have structured subcommittees to cover most of the operations that must be performed to keep everything in motion and improving. "Small Business Saturday isn’t just a day on the calendar. It’s a massive day for making sales. In 2022, an estimated 51 million shoppers participated in the event. Small Business Saturday can be a huge opportunity to meet new customers and grow your business’s profile."
It is recommended that all local businesses take advantage of the Small Business Saturday national event which takes place on the Saturday between the Black Friday holiday shopping day and the online Cyber Monday shopping day. Be ready with specials for local customers on the 25th.
